Be able to prepare a range of bare and previously painted and decorated surfaces to receive coatings/covering systems.
Preparation of work areas
- flooring and surface protection
- signage and barriers
- selection of tools for the task
- removal of existing surfaces using steam stripper and scraper
- removal of surfaces using a paper scorer and water
- filling and sanding down of previously painted surfaces
- removal of paint with chemical paint removers and scrapers
- removal of paint through a hot air gun
- wearing of PPE and disposal of hot and chemical paint debris
