Assessment Guidance

This unit must be assessed following the Skills for Care and Development assessment principles. All learning outcomes must be assessed in a real work environment

Aim

The purpose of this unit is to assess the learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills required to plan work for a team in an adult care setting and then allocate the work effectively and monitor how effectively the work is completed.

Unit Learning Outcomes

Be able to plan work for self and own team in an adult care setting.

Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Agree own and team objectives with own manager.

  • 1.2

    Develop a plan for own team to meet agreed objectives, taking into account capacity and capabilities of the team.

Be able to allocate work across a team.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    Discuss team plans with a team.

  • 2.2

    Agree work allocation and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) objectives with team members.

  • 2.3

    Agree standard of work required by team.

  • 2.4

    Plan the team's workload and activities to fulfil work requirements and commitments, without compromising own health or that of others.

    Support all team members in order to achieve team objectives.

Be able to monitor and evaluate own performance and that of team members.

    Assess own and team members’ work against agreed standards and objectives.

    Identify causes for self and team members not meeting team objectives.
