The purpose of this unit is to assess the learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills required to plan work for a team in an adult care setting and then allocate the work effectively and monitor how effectively the work is completed.
Be able to plan work for self and own team in an adult care setting.
Agree own and team objectives with own manager.
Develop a plan for own team to meet agreed objectives, taking into account capacity and capabilities of the team.
Be able to allocate work across a team.
Discuss team plans with a team.
Agree work allocation and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) objectives with team members.
Agree standard of work required by team.
Plan the team's workload and activities to fulfil work requirements and commitments, without compromising own health or that of others.
Be able to manage team members to achieve team objectives.
Support all team members in order to achieve team objectives.
Be able to monitor and evaluate own performance and that of team members.
Assess own and team members’ work against agreed standards and objectives.
Identify and monitor conflict within a team.
Identify causes for self and team members not meeting team objectives.
Be able to improve the performance of a team.
Identify ways of improving team performance.
Provide constructive feedback to team members to improve their performance.
Implement identified ways of improving team performance.
Be able to improve own performance within team working activities.
Obtain feedback from others to identify areas of strengths and weakness related to own performance within a team.
