To give learners an understanding of the world of work and the different options available to them.

    Identify main benefits to self of having a job.

Know about ways of working.

    State the main differences between:

    • paid and unpaid work
    • employment and self-employment
    • supported and open employment
    • full and part-time work.

    Identify way(s) of working to suit own needs and preferences.

Know about areas of work.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Give examples of different workplaces in own local area, or of particular interest to self, and associated job roles.

  • 3.2

    Identify key features of different job roles relevant to their abilities, interests and aspirations.

4.

Know about sources of information, advice and guidance about work.

    Identify people who can help them find out more about work.
