New qualifications available to support learners who are planning to work in the logistics industry or wish to progress to an apprenticeship in logistics.
The new Skills for Logistics qualifications have been developed with Centres working to prepare learners for employment or further study in the logistics industry.
They are suitable for delivery within JCP programmes, traineeships and 16-19 study programmes. They are available at Level 1 and Level 2 in different sizes to suit providers’ delivery styles.
The Logistics and Supply Chain sector is expanding in many places with the development of new logistics parks, ports and high speed rail links. This expansion creates opportunities for local people to develop for the job opportunities provided.
In the South East LEP alone there are over 6,000 companies supporting 93,000 jobs across its nine ports, high speed rail link and regional airports. At the time of development there were around 8,000 vacancies in the logistics industry in the LEP.
The Level 1 and 2 qualifications can support inclusion strategies as they provide access to learning for students who are not ready to embark on more challenging programmes. These qualifications can be used to develop the learner to continue their learning journey in the future.
The qualifications available are:
Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Skills for Logistics
Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Logistics
