From January 2025, we are simplifying our online assessment platform so that all our online assessments will be undertaken using Surpass Browser Delivery.
Browser delivery is more straightforward to administer for Centres as it only requires a web browser and does not require maintenance of the separate SecureClient installation.
There is no change to the way Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (EDSQ) or Digital Functional Skills Qualifications (DFSQ) assessments are conducted, as these already use browser delivery.
The following qualifications, which are assessed by multiple-choice question (MCQ) assessments, will move from SecureClient to browser delivery:
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Award in British Values (Entry 3)
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in British Values
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Award in Equality and Diversity (Entry 3)
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Equality and Diversity
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Award in Keeping Safe and Healthy (Entry 3)
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Keeping Safe and Healthy
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Award in Mental Wellbeing (Entry 3)
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Mental Wellbeing
- Gateway Qualifications Entry 3 Award Keeping Safe & Healthy in the Digital World
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award Keeping Safe & Healthy in the Digital World
If you have already booked an assessment
- Please use whichever method is most convenient for you. SecureClient will remain available until the end of January, but we encourage you to start using browser delivery as soon as possible.
If you are booking a new assessment
- Please use the browser delivery option instead of SecureClient, by connecting to: https://gateway.surpass.com/launchtest and selecting the Standard browser delivery option.
SecureClient will not be available for any assessments after 31st January 2025.
Please continue to ensure that all assessments are conducted in accordance with any assessment guidance in the relevant Qualification Specification.
Guidance to support you in delivering assessments in the browser is available on our HTML Browser Delivery – Online Assessment – The Candidate Experience webpage, and support is available from our Customer Excellence Team at registrations@gatewayqualifications.org.uk or telephone 01206 911 211.
