As long as it remains safe to do so, teaching, learning and assessment should continue and centres must ensure that all of the content of qualifications is now being taught.

Assessments should be offered in line with the qualification specification or the permitted adaptations to assessment and delivery detailed in the guidance on our website.

Today, Ofqual has published a Guide to the 2021 Level 3 qualification results for VTQs in England. This covers Applied General qualifications, other vocational and technical performance table qualifications and other general qualifications.

Adaptations

We will be retaining any adaptations that have been made to qualifications, as many of you have fed back how useful these have been in enabling you to continue teaching and assessing throughout the pandemic.

Reminder: Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs)

To ensure that learners receive a result, claims should be submitted by 31st August 2021. Learners who wish to appeal a result based on a TAG can do so after this date.

TAGs will not be permitted in 2021-22. We will provide an update should this position change.

Updating Centres

Over the coming weeks, we will update our website to reflect the changes for the new year.

For those of you still claiming for 2020-21, you will continue to find relevant information on our dedicated webpage.

Access to HE Diplomas

The process for awarding Access to HE Diplomas is different to the process for VTQs. The guidance in this email refers to VTQs and is not applicable to Access to HE Diplomas.

Centres offering Access to HE Diplomas should continue to follow the separate guidance provided by our Access to HE team.
